I am running the London Marathon on Sunday 22nd April in support of the Asthma Society. To help raise funds I will be hosting a charity wine tasting. It would be great if you can come and join me and support me in my quest to raise funds.
Date Friday 23rd March
Time 7pm – 9pm
Book 01934 708312
The reason I have chosen this charity is in memory of two people who died as a result of asthma, Abi Clay 1976 – 1996 and Jacques Burton-Lawl 1994 – 2006.
Many people have asthma but don’t always realise the severity and that it is potentially life threatening.
I had the pleasure of growing up with Abi and if you had ever met her, she is someone you would never forget. Her bright smiley face and enthusiasm for life really was infectious, she was just a lush person to be around. When I picture Abi, I see her giggling with such a cheeky naughtiness that you would just want to laugh with her.
Jacques was the youngest son to a best friend of mine, Melanie. I only had the pleasure of knowing Jacque in the last four years of his life. Jacque suffered from chronic asthma which was tough for him growing up. However it didn’t stop him getting involved in life, laughing, loving nature and spending lots of happy times with friends and family. Jacque really was a lovely, respectful and gentle young man.
It is with the memory of Abi and Jacques that I will run the 2018 London Marathon and they will help me through the tough training regime!
If you can come along to the wine tasting it would be very much appreciated.
If you can’t make it but would like to donate I have a Just Giving page that can be found here
Thank you for your help and support,
